Mom’s can be stylish too

Mom’s are often the last ones to spend money on themselves but even the busiest mom can be stylish too.  Take a look at what Spring 2011 has to offer and view  the upcoming trends to see how you can select your wardrobe this coming year.  You don’t have to have expensive Mikimoto pearls to be stylish although if you have pearls already, then you are on your way this season.

The new season sees a resurgence of a seventies look with a subtle difference.  Simple elegant lines with no fuss and bother.  Few prints and more plain unadorned materials.  Neutrals by day but bold at night. Perfect for the busy mom and you don’t need to have Prada or other expensive brands to complete the look either.  You will find what you are looking for at JC Penny’s, Old Navy or any other budget brand store.

Fashion trends are set by the mind set of society and the new trend is looking at Eco-friendly  and green sustainable living so cotton and other sustainable fabrics are back.  Society is tired of war, so the military theme is out and the more fun and flirty sailor look is back.  The mantra of “less is more” is the main theme and if you stick to this idea, even bust moms can be stylish this new season.

Jewelry is minimal with a few choice pieces of timeless classics.  Jewelry fashion is looking at simple lines and the idea to re-use and re-cycle is in the mind set of society and thus will follow forward in fashion trends.   The plain shift dress is back but so are tail hems.  Dresses with a sexy shorter front hem and a longer back hem, makes the shirt dress an easy fashion item this next season.  Nautical themes show bold dominant stripes and if you like the feminine look, then lace and crochet fabrics are also in.

To fit with the budget, it is easy to adapt older clothes you already have but if you feel like splurging, then all you need to know when you visit your favorite store be it Mark’s or Walmart is to keep it simple.   Make sure your clothes fit well and select sleek and simple lines.
