When it comes to parties, we may want to save the extravagance for another time. A low-key party is the answer to those who want to get together and simply hang out for the sake of hanging out. At the same time, those hosting a low-key party may want to treat their guests to all the benefits of having a party, such as having food and drinks available. If you’re interested in throwing a low-key budget party, then consider the following tips to planning one.
Casual Invites
You don’t have to spend money on invitations in order to invite guests. You can easily start a Facebook Event Page, send out an Evite, text your guests or call them. Make sure to have your guests RSVP by a certain date, so you can decide how much food or drinks will be necessary for your party.
Food and Drinks
There are many options available for food and drink. The best way to save on food and drinks is to throw a potluck. Ask each and every single guest to bring a dish or a beverage to your party. That way, you don’t have to feel completely responsible for covering food and drinks. You can also charge your guest a minimum amount to cover the food and drinks that you will be purchasing for the group. There are cheap foods that the host or hostess can make, including pasta.
Music
What’s a party without music? First off, decide the music that fits the mood of your party and your guests. Hook your computer or music player up to a stereo system and have a play list ready. You can even set your computer to a radio website or Pandora. Music will become the last thing you need to worry about, as long as you stay prepared.
