Something came up that’s worth throwing a party for. Someone just found out she was pregnant. A new engagement needs to be celebrated. Or maybe, you just got a pay raise. No matter what the reason, you’ve decided that it’s an opportune time to throw a party, but it just happens to be last minute. Throwing a last minute party is definitely possible. It just takes a decisive attitude and some quick planning skills to make it happen. With the right guests, good food, ample drinks and a fun ambiance, you may just have a hit party within reach.
Create a Guest List
Write down a list of people who want at your party. Since you haven’t got the time to send out fancy invitations, call your guests. If you decide to text message your guest, make sure to have them call back immediately as an RSVP. This is a great way to gauge supplies based upon how many people will be arriving to your party.
Get Food and Drinks Quick
The fastest way to have food on the table is by ordering take-out and purchasing ready made appetizers at the grocery store. If you have a bit of time to cook, consider making a quick low maintenance meal, such as pasta. Run to the store to pick up drinks, such as champagne, wine, beer and hard alcohol. Be sure to get some ice to chill beverages for your guests.
Have an Ambiance
Turn the lights down low. If you have blaring bright lights and no option for mood lighting, consider getting candles to create a relaxed, yet social atmosphere.
Play Music
Hook your computer or music player up to speakers and play your favorite music play list for as long as the party lasts. This is a great way to prepare your music and allow it to play unattended for the rest of the evening.
