With technology and busy lives, it’s difficult to spend time with the family. Game night is a great way to bond with the entire family and you can certainly make game night a weekly ritual. Without the right intention or planning, it’s possible that game night can become a forced event for your family to deal with. So, make sure to plan a fun and successful game night for your family to look forward to.

Schedule
Take the time out to plan a night when your entire family is available. Kids have activities and sporting events. Parents sometimes have to stay for long overtime hours after work. Find a time when everyone is available to spend time with one another.

Find a Game
Agree on a game. You can even rotate games on a weekly basis. You and your family can take part in voting for the next game. Some examples of games include, Twister, Parcheesi, Scrabble, Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit, Clue and more. A simple game of cards can also be fun.

Have Food
A great way to make the night even more fun is by having food. Food is a great way to entice family members to game night. Have pizza delivered to the house. Have bite-size finger foods available at all times.

Offer a Reward
To whomever wins, offer a reward. This could be anything from a gift certificate to movie tickets. A reward can also be another incentive to lure family members to game night.

Be Lighthearted
Attitude is important. Making game night fun and lighthearted can oppose any ideas of your kids feeling forced to be there. In the end, your goal is to make sure that your family spends quality time together and make wonderful memories. All this is possible with a fun competitive evening with the family.
