Women that juggle work and motherhood is often comparative to juggling two jobs- or more. Being a mother has been described as a full-time job in itself. So, how do women do it? It takes more planning than anything, but in the end it’s possible to have a successful career and raise healthy kids.
Plan Out a Schedule
Create a schedule to see how much time you have available for your child. Having an available schedule can help you coordinate with your spouse and your potential child care worker.
Team Up with the Spouse
You and your spouse can split time with your child. If you just had a baby, have your spouse take equal responsibility of taking care of your child if the baby cries in the middle of the night. See if your spouse is available to care for the baby during any of the times you are gone.
Plan Childcare Ahead of Time
Rather than worrying about who is taking care of your kid while you’re gone, take the time to choose a high quality approach toward your child’s supervision. First, figure out your available budget for daycare. Then, consider nannies, babysitters, daycare centers and available family members for your child.
Release Guilt
As a mother, you may feel guilty that you aren’t spending enough time with your child. As long as you’ve prepared your child for the proper supervision, you’ve done everything possible. Keep in mind, that you are also bringing in money to support your child.
Be in the "Now"
If you’re at work, you may be thinking about your child. If you’re with your child, you may be thinking about work. Try letting go of these thoughts and be in the "now." If you’re at two places at once, you’re losing potentially fulfilling moments either at work or with your child.
