Can a Mom Work?

This is a firm belief: a child is impacted the most by parents the moment he or she opens his or her eyes in the morning to see a beautiful mother smiling, and also the most by parents the moment he or she closed his or her eyes at night after that same mother plants a kiss on the kid’s forehead. If you’re a parent, and your child isn’t getting those moments, there’s a problem. So know this: if you’re a mom who wants to provide for the family like daddy does, or maybe you’re a single mom, don’t feel ashamed.

Your kid(s) won’t suffer for it–guaranteed.

Yes, the stay-at-home moms get to see their kids more often before they head on to preschool, but as said before–the most important times for a child are in the morning and night. They need to know you’re when they wake up and when they go to sleep. Everything in between is an adventure of learning and discovery for them. Know that your child/children are resilient.

Daycares provide an invaluable service for those mothers who do maintain a career–whether you’re a mother working as a secretary, or a manager, or a waitress. You can be a hard-working lawyer, too, and still provide for your kid(s) without feeling like you’re missing anything! You have your weekends, too; don’t forget that. Make those days–Friday nights, Saturdays, and Sundays–your family days to spend. Make it worthwhile enough that you can get through a week without missing your kids. Lord knows the bond between mother and child is stronger than steel.

Follow your passions, modern-day mother. And don’t be afraid. The workforce is waiting for you. Know that your children, even at that small tender age, are proud of you wanting to pursue your dreams. Definitely be sure to know that your husband and father to your child is equally proud! And when your kid(s) grow up, trust that they’ll thank you for your choice.
